Have a look here all ;)

http://www.lightnings.org.uk/

Yep, we are doing another one :D

But this one is gonna be bigger :)

We plan to fast taxy 904 along the runway at the top end (Gilmorton end) which is a great venue for our runs as its very 'cosy' up there, having a line of large tree's as a back drop.

The sounds, sights and smells seem to be greater up there, its only the 3rd time in 20 years we have run from this end as well.

Basiclly we will do the same as last time, all ticket holders gather at the Q shed, parking in the same place, we will tow 904 up there, all public park up and walk to the crowd line (yes we have to have a fence this time as we are moving) 904 will be started, Dennis will do his usual open day 'burner' drop on each engine to check all is ok, then line up and unleash those 'horses' all 60,000 of them but in the half light ;) ;)
A Binbrook Q scramble kinda thing :D

The reason is after the doors are on we need another £5,000 smartish to get the cladding up around and over the doors to stop any of the elements knackering up our hard work and fund raising efforts ;)

So with a fair wind and your contiued support we might just do it, and maybe get us started on the next funding phase ;)

Its tickets again, £25 per head, kids free, but they arent on sale yet, should be soon after Crimbo, so bear with us abit

Gates open at 2pm ;)

14th Feb 2009, be there

But you have been warned and what else were you all planning on Valentines day eh :D :D

Something like this but darker ;) Binbrook 87

Hi all,

Just a little update on the twlight run in Feb, our pilot for the day is a very good, old friend of the LPG, Keith Hartley, ex BAE chief test pilot and Thunder Citys main man during their early days flying Lightnings, his classic line to anyone 'converting' or even taking a trip was 'there are 3 things to remember with a Lighting fuel, fuel and fuel'

He has since emigrated to Auz but will be in back in the UK for a short period and has kindly taken up our offer of another 'thrutch' along Bruntys runway

He was 'our' main stay pilot from about 1991 though to 1996, and we are all looking forward to seeing him again at the 'helm'

His enthusisaum for Ligthnings just pours out of him, and a dam nice chap to boot [;)]
Im sure he is gonna love the Q shed

He's a couple of shots, one of him and one of 904 with him in the seat in around 1994 prior to us removing the 'over burgers' and re applying the 11 sdq markings

Im sure he wont dissapoint us and anyone who plans to join us on the 7th Feb [;)]

Cheers [:D]
