Hopefully this weekend I was going to be viewing (and buying) a piece of (damaged)RNZAF history. ZK-BQL is a J5 Auster and was one of 5 imported for the RNZAF. She (and NZ1705) actually operated on floats for a time. Last year she ended up running into a fence after an engine problem. I spoke to the owner yesterday and was all set to visit saturday when one of my friends ,who is restoring a T7 Auster(ex-RAF and ex-RHKAF) and put me onto the owner, told me he had just been asked by another friend about spares for a J5 he had just bought!!
Yes I had been pipped at the post! damn it. Oh well I'll just have to be quicker next time!!

Oh and so over these damn aftershocks! we have had over 300 of the damn things!!!
