Brazilian air force investigates fatal display team crash

Postby Cj27 » Sun Apr 04, 2010 6:53 pm

There has been a fatal crash in Brazil involving a very experienced pilot of a Embraer T-27.
During the display, the pilot went into a steep climb and doing left hand rolls. Then the aircraft turned sharply towards the ground, achieving wings level before slamming into the ground.
The pilot was sadly died on impact.

The following videos shows the aircraft during the fatal event.

:( All accidents are very, very sad.

Is this the equivalent of our Tucano?

Hell thats awful. We had a Chipmunk do something similar at a Wanaka airshow several years ago. He did a half loop (probably last part of a cuban 8?) and at the bottom he hit the ground. The fuselage was intact and slid along the ground perfectly upright but both wings flew off. Pilot was alive when they got him out but sadly passed way not long after.
