NUMB QUESTION DU JOUR:::::::::::;

When they were both flying commercially, how would VC-10 and
DC-10 be differentiated, esp. in radio communications....

"Delta Charlie/Victor Charlie" or just "Beautiful/Ugly"?

Or maybe "Gorgeous/Fat"..........

I may be a Murkin, but I calls 'em how I sees 'em!

Dan4th

Never! Never! Never! liked the DC-10.

i imagine Danf that the a/c type had/has little to do with any callsign - for example, in BOAC/BA days, any VC10 flight would have the age-old callsign "Speedbird"

as for DC10 - i completely agree! not that I'm a Tristar fan, but they are far the superior aeroplane in many respects. but then as a Lockheedophile, I'm certain that you agree!

Yeah, I know about the a/c type, etc.

Just one of my pathetic attempts at "humo(u)r".

So then, how about "Speedbird"/"Lardbucket"?

Has a certain ring to it, no?

Mister Smith!

Well, of course there was always Bertie Wooster!

I wasn't really angry, but you've got to admit that we Murkins are
very often the targets of Brit "Humo(u)r" as being somewhat less
than sentient as a people. Much as I enjoy your Mr. Clarkson, he
too often takes us to task by using stereotypes that never existed
in the first place! Of course, the audience loves it, and I suppose
he can be forgiven -- up to a point! I might make fun of you guys
from time to time, but it's never a Cheap Shot!

The saving grace is that neither of our cultures has yet to corner
the market on dim-witted cluelessness. I leave THAT to the EU
Aviation Authority! Actually, I always thought that it was the Brits
who INVENTED cluelessness and then licensed it to us Murkins at a
profit! I mean, credit where due, here!!!!!!!!!!!

Murkin Pal;
