I always thought the newby drivers would start as red 9 and work their way down the numbers?

no it's the other way round Mags they start off low numbers & work up the numbers - moving outwards in the formation as they do so....

Yes he is & he's the only position that doesn't change throughout his 3 years as leader -

It is confusing in as much you would think they work their way up the numbers - I always thought they would do that from an admin point of view - but I guess from a flying perspective it makes sense.

Helen I got a really one, unfortunately they must have left one behind because there was only 8 of them ... =)) =)) =))

Nice to see the blades blurred on the Chinook picture!

There were 9 Pam.
One of them was admiring the lovely shade of red coming from the rear of her hawk and wondering if lippy was available in Arrows Red. Consequently she went the wrong way and got lost.
I hear there is a single hawk on the apron at Tullamarine airport. :p

Red 3 (Kirsty) - is on the left of leader (viewing upward from ground) in the V approach and Diamond 9.

I see the updated Red Arrows Website no longer shows Reds positions in formations. Judging from Pams' pictures - she is looking good so far. ;)

Thanks Pam.

I didn't realise until a couple of weeks ago she''s Robbie Stewarts daughter - one of the navs who banged out in the 1st Gulf war - I believe there's a bronze bust of Robbie in Hendon Museum

Its funny. I hadn't twigged who she was. I remember her when she was Kirsty Stewart.......I was same IOT as her at Cranwell. =)) I would seem she has done rather better than I have. :(( Her dad, did a lecture for all the recruits about his 'experiences' after he was shot down over Iraq in GW1. Interesting and very enlightening. It would have made a great book - but he did say he wouldn't do it.
