Some more Lancaster Pics

Here's a few pics from Nanton that were promised long ago. Finally got to it. Sometimes things move at the pace of a glacier here :p

Nice-looking Fire Apparatus in the first shot!

Those long, long Northern Nights result in
some Beautifully Turned-out Details, don't
they? It would be a Shame to have to drop
that bomb on anything, it's so lovingly
painted!

Thanks, Len!

Oh, and how's Geronimo doing?

Thanks! I do love that Tallboy. It sure would have been something to see that hit!

:)) Yes Dan, when it's dark at 4:00 there's plenty of time to go paint a Tallboy :)

It's a little early to tell on Geronimo. My first set of canvas prints arrive next week and one of my best galleries is doing renovations right now. This "back to school" time is really slow for art sales and the current economy doesn't help at all. Nothing is moving at the moment but it should pick right up in a few weeks. We'll see.

She is in really good shape now and lovingly looked after. I used to look after her for 16 years and thoroughly enjoyed my time on her. Noticable areas for me were the engines intitially and rebuilding the canopy and front gun turret including real guns demilled of course and spent intact 303 links to complete it.. Sometime down the road the front turret possibly might be re rebuilt to operational instead of static condition.
Sadly there is not enough area for safety reasons to get her taxxiable in front of the hangar.
