Come on don't be such a wuss - get some swarfega on your hands and pretend you are writing it all down for us - right from when you had the idea to buy a lightning ....until now :D

I'd buy it in advance :p :p

If it's anything like the stuff you've written for us it'll sell thousands - and think of what the profits could do for the girls ;) ;)

No soz, not for me, not yet anyway ;)

You never know, my 'take' on the experiences we/I have had keeping them alive might one day get written down.

How does this sound for the begining ?

Curious Andy, but the following all have their noses missing off to the right of the shot!

No 1
XP750

No2
XR728

No3
XR770

No4
XP695

No5
XR755

No6
XR758

all have their noses missing at this end!

I suspect they were oversize when posted via photobucket! You seem to be routinely posting images that are 800 x 521!

Andy,

Just reset the original size requirement to 640 x 480 (large) when you upload into PHOTOBUCKET, that way it will accept at the right size and the WHOLE picture will be available to all of your very keen audience! :ymapplause:

The problem being, I think the 100s of photos are already in 320's Photobucket account ...

Ive now amended all photos on page 2 of this thread. Will do page 3 later :)

MF/XPL, I changed the forum parameters for him because the photos are so good (but knowing they would be 'chopped').

Future photos will be linked by Andy but then later in the day I will change and host them ;)

Edit: ALL NOSES HAVE RETURNED :D

Few more Binbrook shots for Wedge to modify ;)

XR725, ended up at Rossington scrap yard but was saved by Charles Ross, he moved her to his garden in Binbrook village where she stands today

Image

XR749, cut but rebuilt over along time by Ken Ward, she ended up on Teeside airports gate (once Middleton St George)

Image

Image

Image

XM172, spent 30 years on a plinth outside Colt, she finally came down in 2005 very corrodied but was moved to Neil Aireys garden in the lake district, he now looks out his patio window at her

Image

Image

Image

Image

XR724, the famous Binbrook Lightning, she was returned there after a one off flight by BAE from storage at Shawbury in 1991, shame Binbrook is crumbling around her

Image

XS928, like 904, 773, 724 and was flown to Warton in 87 to support the Foxhunter radar trails with 693, 928 was eventually spares recovered to keep the others going, she now stands guard on Wartons gate

Image

Image

Our very own 728 as BF, a very rare shot

Image

Image

And 904 in her other life

Image

And how she ended her days before going to Warton then onto us ;)

Cheers

what's the story behind XR724 then 320? i always thought that she was still at Binbrook because she had been stranded there - i never realised that she was ferry-flown from Warton in 1991! :-o

what's that all about then?
