And I've just seen on twitter, a photo one of the BBMF Navs took during the briefing for tomorrow of the briefing board, it shows two tiny diagrams of the formation. Don't know what they are actually for, but both show a Lancaster at front and back then two little somethings (presumably Spitfires/Hurricanes) on either side. With the Reds following on, on the first diagram they are in Arrow formation and the second they are in Lancaster formation.
I don't know how to post the photo as it's on twitter.
But try this. https://twitter.com/bigjimfurness/statu ... 0090783745

I really hope the weather is OK. I'm crossing everything!

As an edit to my earlier post.

BBMF Formation will be their Lancaster, Hurricane & Spit. Photography ships probably RED10 & VORTEX03 (Puma)

I honestly don't know what to do today :))

Mum and I were talking till really late last night throwing ideas about.
My nana is buried in Newport cemetery which is practically under the Cathedral, so we might end up there, but there are some pretty big trees, so we still don't know :))

Running out of time to make a decision, because she has departed \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ :ymapplause: :D

Well we've decided to head just west of Billinghay there is a point I am told by a reliable source [well as reliable as a navigator can be!! :)) ] that if they are on track from Cranwell to Coningsby they should fly right over head.

I know what you mean about trees Helen.

Landed at Coningsby 14.07 she abandoned the flypast and headed straight to base - heard her but didn't see her.

In hindsight it was a good decision not to go anywhere "special". We put some nice red and white chrysanthemums on Nana's grave then hung around till one of the Reds said it was cancelled on the scanner. But we had already figured that out by the lightning and thunder heading straight for the Cathedral.
A shame the weather stopped any kind of flypast but it's much more important that she arrived safe and sound!! Hopefully I'll get to see her soon :)

We had them all talking on the scanners, and I'm going to see on FR24 in a minute how close she came to us because mum and I both heard something, whether it was her or not we don't know, the thunder was rather loud at that point :)) We had some impressive lightning.

By the time I saw the route she was taking it was too late to get the car out and dash off - the trouble is there are a number of areas she could have gone through, without a heads up it's difficult to guess.

Lincoln was packed especially around the Cathedral and Castle area as was Broadgate pedestrian bridge!!!!

People were parked on Nettleham road up as far as Broadway!
It really was such bad luck that the weather arrived as it did.

We saw her from a distance as she passed Scunny (initially was going to go over us).
I do have a few distance photo's (dots on the horizon) of her :))
I am pleased, even with a glimpse and a little noise that we at least witnessed her arrival.
A lot of disappointment for people but glad she is here safely and thrilled at the prospect of seeing her over the next few weeks.
I applaud everyone, both sides, for their efforts in this amazing achievement.

As I said, she was a long way off.

Uncropped.

Still photos to treasure. I was disappointed not to see her but she got here in one piece and that's what matters.

I've actually treated myself to a visit around the hangar never done one before, but not until the 19th Sept that was the earliest they had left.
