Hi Dave,
Almost finished. I had a commission for a couple of Spitfires so had to split my time between the two paintings.
Struggled with the portrait side of Jon too but finally got him right (I hope!)

It's hard to believe there has been another death and so close behind the tragedy at Bournemouth. Absolutely terrible.

Still a little bit of work on the Red Arrows to do but very close to finishing it.
This is a recent commission for a guy who wanted a couple of Spitfire MK IX's one a side view and the other showing the elliptical wing shape, both British pilots and to be flying over the White Cliffs of Dover. Quite a tough challenge as the composition is a bit unusual. He settled on this idea, hopefully he will be happy with the finished work :) The pilots are, top Spit Donald Kingaby 64 Sqn Hornchurch, first kill to the Mk IX and the 18th of 21 victories, nearest Spit, Wilfred Duncan Smith 64 Sqn. though born in India I think he can still be considered British, he finished the war with 18 victories.

Best thing is the aircraft look used and
not like museum pieces.....

Is it my imagination, Terry, or are you
a little "in demand" these days?

If so, I can certainly understand why!

Great Stuff as usual, and we're getting
SPOILED on here!

Cheers,

Gp Cpt Wilfred Duncan Smith - DSO and bar, DFC and two bars - (he was the father of former tory leader Iain Duncan Smith) also wrote a great book called "Spitfire into Battle" and is described by Jeffrey Quill as "One of the greatest fighter pilots of the Second World War"

There are photos of him in his 64Sqn Spitfire together with F/Lt Kingaby in this great book.

Great artwork TJ. How I envy your talent :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

(What are your prices again? You never know Father Christmas might be listening ... well there's more chance of him taking a hint than my family :(( )

That is really nicely done, Terry........

I certainly don't have the same emotional
connection to the Reds that you Brits do,
but my admiration and appreciation for
the difficulty of their mission is still HUGE!

This is an obviously heartfelt tribute, very
well and carefully painted.

I hope it is PUBLISHED somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because it deserves to be!
