Thunderchief---

Postby Hunter0f2 » Thu Nov 20, 2008 1:44 pm

I must admit I have a soft spot for the Republic Thunderchief F 105-- This aircraft bore the brunt of the early bombing campains in Vietnam, Where I think about a third of all production was lost--- As they used to say-- What sound does a 105 make when it hits a cloud----THUD!!! =))

you have managed to show a picture of the electric anti radar Wild Weasel version of the Thud, not the bomber!!!! Note the SHRIKE missile under the wing!

Yea this plane did the Lot--- Bomber, Wild weasel & even Fighter , even shot down Migs . However the turn radius was massive so not so hot in a true Dog fight. Yep & as you say there are some great sites dedicated to this Aircraft , I'm still finding them myself aftera couple of years. The best ones are written by Viet-Vet -pilots------
