Avro Anson Mk 1 engine run for first time

Postby Baz62 » Mon Sep 27, 2010 3:16 am

Greeting folks. Ok the header is a bit misleading as the engine actually ran for the first time a few months ago (might have even been last year????) but this is the first time the engine has been run installed on the airframe!! Some of the eagle eyed may notice that this Anson hasn't got the original one piece wooden wing but the later Mark metal centre section and wings. Funnily enough the MK 1 Anson in the RNZAF Museum was restored exactly the same way!

Sounds lovely Baz!

And then two further spits from the exhaust as the remaining cylinders decide they want to play as well. I love it. :ymapplause: \:D/ :ymapplause: \:D/ :ymapplause:

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.
