A real marker of just how great this country once was, beautiful Aircraft that was ahead of its time and I was very fortunate to see it display.

I very much hope I'll get the chance to see it fly again. :D

Looks like you'll be going to Thunder City in South Africa then :D, Sadly the only place on earth you'll ever get to see a Lightning flying :(

I wish Andy and the whole LPG a most successful and trouble free Opening Day \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

I came to know about the LPG through this forum and I wasn't ever a true blue Lightning supporter as a type ... But I CAN say very honestly that the whole LPG thing has really grabbed my interest and I think what they have achieved over all these years is truly astounding. A true legacy for future generations. Not many people can say they leave that behind them.

I hope they can keep at least one of the girls running a while yet ... but even when silent the sight of them sitting side by side in that QRA shed is truly amazing and a very emotional sight.

Well done LPG - a real inspiration to us all. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

I hope everyone has a great day - too far for me I'm afraid. Literally an iconic aircraft for me, as I saw them countless times during their service life, and never failed to be awed by them. A propos the earlier posts I think the Lightnings at Thunder City have all been grounded since the fatal accident last year, haven't they? :( :(
