Thank you for the June Update , Robert. Sorry to hear the sad news regarding Roger Hart (RIP) and Ken Oultram (RIP) and that they will not be around to see 82045 running.

Thank you for the October Update, Robert.

On the subject of 'Pony Trucks' (mentioned in the Update) my recent visit to Herston Works, Swanage (for the October 'Volunteer Session') involved working for 2 days solid on the (inverted) 'Trailing Pony Truck' Frames for Sidmouth. There were three of us working on the bottom surfaces, etc, Two of us had Angle Grinders with wire brushes and the other person had the compressed air operated Needle Gun. VERY dirty and VERY noisy work!!!!!!!!!!!!
Towards the end of the second day we were in the position of then being able to apply Black Primer Paint to these areas.
It's now for someone else to deal with the other side, once the Frames have been turned over (and 'right way up').

[There are some photos on the Southern Locomotives Ltd Facebook Page].

The Frames had been out in the open for many, many years, so it was not only the old paint and rust that had to be removed, but also a lot of vegetation, plus some old birds nests as well!

Oh the joys of Steam Locomotive Restoration :) :) :)
