Birmingham Airport 7 years ago Today!

Postby Leebee0 » Wed Oct 20, 2010 9:47 pm

Hi all

So for another of my "on this day in avation history" :).This time we go back just 7 years to a really cold day at Birmingham Airport where a very special visitor was making her final ever apperance. For me an Aircraft just as beautiful in every way as XH558 but with that bite of total raw power from those Olympus 593's.Of course its Concorde here we see G-BOAC landing at BHX for the final time at 12:30pm then leaving at around 4:30 in the afternoon. My passion for this Aircraft is just as much as i feel for 558 but where as we still have 558 (just) we will never see the like of Concorde again. :( So enjoy these final moments of yet another British icon fading into history just 11 days later this Aircraft flew to Manchester Airports viewing Park never to fly again!! :((

Thanks for looking :)

Lee

Thanks Mate I never noticed that lol I have known long enough that Concorde has 593's and not 598's. :-o

Agreed! :((

I think it's about time I phoned a best friend and arranged to visit Brooklands again. Best place for a Concorde visit :)
