Well the people who 'demand' it are warped in some way in my humble opinion - there should be NO ONE who would STILL pay that stupid money to what is, basically, a failed gravy train organisation, to see something that is not anywhere near unique in this country .... for as you have indicated it is being performed by volunteer groups at minimal cost elsewhere
