XM655 Photo Shoot

Postby Sooty655 » Tue Nov 18, 2014 3:51 pm

MaPS held a photo shoot last Saturday in conjunction with Time Line Events.

The UKAR thread is here.

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

I knew it was taking place obviously but I didn't see it advertised anywhere.

Those that went seem to be pretty happy with it, well done.

It was advertised on Time Line Events website and on the MaPS one. :p

I notice some posters are complaining it was overpriced. We took the advice of the Time Line Events organiser on pricing and numbers, and it was a sell-out so it can't have been too overpriced. MaPS members got a discount, by the way.

When I said advertised anywhere I meant mentioned, as in I didn't see any reference to it on any of the fora, other than my original post asking if there would be interest in such an event. Usually someone asks if any one else is going.

It's the same as what they say about 558 ground runs etc, they all sell out, so enough people are willing to pay the asking price.

Forums (Fora) are so yesterday - just see the decline in the number of postings on Iconic to prove the point....

This event was successfully advertised on Facebook and Twitter - that did the trick and as Sooty says, it was a sell-out!

The photographers who attended were amongst the most polite and appreciative bunch of people we have ever had at Wellesbourne, and the standard of photography was outstanding.

I just hope that our 50th anniversary celebration this coming Saturday is half as well received!

I have checked out some pictures on some aviation forums, and they are stunning, unfortunately I was unable to attend, and I would have been more than willing to pay £50 to attend............... :ymapplause:

Thats ironic as I was asked by MaPS to start a thread on UKar asking if there would be any interest in a photoshoot! :))

I'm still surprised there was no mention but that was a reflection on UKar rather than MaPS.
