One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

Just seen this on Facebook. :( :(

""Press Release
XM655 Maintenance and Preservation Society regret that the Wellesbourne Airfield landowners, Littler Investments Ltd, have not given authority for our proposed Wings and Wheels event in 2018.
We will continue to work with the Airfield Management to ensure their aircraft is maintained in suitable condition for events to be held in the future if this should become possible. We also continue to host visitors to the aircraft every Saturday, and will be available for booked parties to visit throughout 2018."

Sincere apologies if I was not supposed to post this. Delete if required.

Nothing we can do about it at this stage. We still have good support from the airframe owners, who are also the airfield operator, but they have no control over what the landowner, i.e. the wider Littler family, will allow. It seems the big cheese of Littler Investments Ltd can't see beyond the 1600 houses he has failed to get planning permission for, and will not allow anything which makes Wellesbourne look like a viable airfield. Shame he can't see the profits that could be made using the Sywell model, but apparently he has no interest in aviation whatever.

It is a shame as it was a good w/e tho' very, very hard work for MaPS.

XM655 a victim of it's own success.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.
