It will happen!

Postby Wedgy » Fri Mar 06, 2009 10:48 am

As we have hoped over the last few days, it will happen today :)
Pledged £948,519 with 8 hours 30mins to go :)

I'm sad I will not get to see it, as I will be on the road all day - but SM is on strict instructions to call me when it happens :D

While writing, I would just like to express my thanks to you all for the great discussion and debate throughout the pledge season.
Some have criticised us as a whole or as individuals, for being too negative or not being 'real supporters'. In my opinion, we are realists and grounded - not succumbing to the 'la la la cloud cuckoo' talk, which yes, is nice and fluffy, but isn't very constructive, nor moves us any further forward with getting the powers that be to think outside their box. I have enjoyed the various conflicting opinions and discussions here - and the way you have all conducted yourselves while discussing this always volatile subject ;)

Yes well put Wedgy ;)
Having been a big sceptic - as I've explained elsewhere - I have enjoyed being able to discuss it over here without fear of the finger of neagativity pointing at me :p
And as you've seen I have been able to say that I was indeed wrong - but I am still able to rejoice in the successes of those that plugged away for their beliefs. :D
I shall be just as excited at the £1m barrier as anyone else - here's hoping for good news today :ymapplause:
Right down to the wire - you couldn't write this as a film script could you :))

due to your wise words Wedgy, i am contemplating, for a limited time only, replacing my use of the word "bum" with the word "botty"

such is the level of our success! :D

Well done to you, 'Number One' Son and to all your colleagues. I am really proud of you all. Such committment is very much a rarity these days (unfortunately). Keep up the good work!

I won't be happy till we hit the £1m + on pledge meter. Watching it grind to a virtual halt has not helped... X(

i was stressing with all those that i rang AFTER it was hailed as a success, that we still needed more "to push the success home!"

That's okay, Haggis......

Flippant is one of the rules on here and rarely goes
over the line. When it does, Mayfly sends out one
of her patented and registered THWACKS, and that
usually takes care of it.....

Is there anything that was fitted to 558 that now resides in the 'Not required for flight' bin that's capable of being rewired to detect incoming 'thwacks???
