Before anyone asks it's the Counterpoise panel which holds the Red Shrimp antennas... there, I said it :D

Should be a fine system in place for anyone who asks the question "what's that between the engines then?" ~x(

I think I'm about to get stomped on by MF, but here goes...

Is that underside shot actually 558? 3 reasons I ask: firstly, they look like 300 series nozzles and I think I can see the 301 anti-icing unit exhausts, secondly, when 558 was converted back to B2-ish standard for display use, the air scoop for the ECM equipment was removed and it's in this piccie and, thirdly, the paint job looks matt instead of glossy.

Preparing for incoming...

to be honest Gully I dont know I never thought about it, it was the plate that I thought would be interesting .......I'll ask DT when he gets home but 95% of his vulcan pics are 558 so I just assumed :ymblushing:

Wedgy, DT has so many photos - it never occurs to me others would be interesting in seeing them other than the more unusual ones above :)

edit: Full marks to Gully for observation it is infact XM652 - showing the ECM cooling duct, tail skid and tail mounted ECM aerial

thread title changed :D

that'll teach me to read & not assume :o)
