Postby Minty4371 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 8:32 pm

Donations at 5pm on Wednesday 27th April stands at £130,168 :(.
37% of overall total and 65% of April's total.
Next Update on Wednesday 4th May.
Total of £200,000 by end of April and another £150,000 by the end of May.
The crew may be on a months notice again soon :(. (only my opinion)

Historically things have always picked up for 558 when she becomes under pressure lets hope that trend continues.

If I may add, she is fully operational and waiting for the 2011 season to start.
Booked in for Abingdon so the time is now ripe to make a lot of noise to get this season well and truly off the ground.

Yes I agree we just need to keep a positive out look on this. Although we might not be quite where we need to be with the fund raising I worked at the viewing area at Doncaster yesterday items were selling well and people were donating what ever they could. The aircraft looked superb sat right outside the store and with the first show up and coming this weekend things still felt good. The response to the aircraft flying next weekend was very positive and people were buying even more when knew this. It was interesting because the viewing area was not just bringing in people whom knew loads about Vulcans but also the casual curious type who were then spending money!!
So we just need to keep our fingers crossed! :)

Cheers

Lee.

I have never understood the merchandising side of things - I only ever seem to see Trust logoed [sp]items and I have never made a secret of the fact that I dislike that Gold planform Vulcan and Trust Logo with a passion.

So does anyone know how this works?

Does the Club not have any of it's own loged items? - do they buy the merchandise from the Trust sell it at a profit and give some of that money back or do the volunteers simply sell the items on behalf of the Trust and if so apart from the club membership subs where does the Club get it's money?

Confused of LIncs!! :p

Pam, I think the Club does all of the sales
effort and support and collects all the
profits and then hands money over to the
Trust on a regular basis.......

Club buys the merchandise and sells it to
benefit the Trust. To my knowledge, the
Club has never used this money as leverage
to get its way with the Trust or to get it to
mend its ways........

I think there are transfers (book or cash I'm not sure) between Trust and Club for (the cost of) items produced by them respectively. i.e. Vulcan to the Pie, Photobook are Club produced items but would be sold at the (Trust) Vulcan Village and the Club sell the (Trust produced) Haynes manual on Club stands. The Club donates to the Trust, but I don't know if they break it down into subs, sales, donations etc.
As regards logos I think the Club logo is around the planform.
I'd rather be skiing

Hi
First post on Iconic! :D
A word of explanation about merchandising for the VTTS Trust and the VTTS Club.

The Trust have taken on the major role in merchandising now and have successfully raised significant sums through the web shop and the Vulcan Village.

The Club produces a selection of merchandise chosen by the merchandise committee. These are things like, among other things, the Cook Book, the USB sticks and some clothing ranges. All profits and donations are used to benefit XH558.

The Club doesn't have the disposable income to make major investments in merchandise. However, it is able to produce smaller but different ranges from the Trust. It inter-trades with the Trust, both sides buying from each other as needed.

The Club accounts will be made available in the next few weeks and will show how the Club supports the Trust and XH558. :)

The Club uses the plan form and wording in agreement with the Trust.

Of course I was forgetting the Club logo is so very much like the Trust - that why I see the black/gold and never make the distinction between the 2 - thanks
