XA903

Postby Mayfly » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:03 am

I understand this cockpit has moved from Wellesbourne and was spotted on her way north!

Any of MaPS know where she going?

When a proper museum is opened one day explaining the whole Concorde story from start to finish I hope that maybe this cockpit section will end up there

'903 (or what remains of her) has been under current ownership since 2006 at Wellesbourne. The owner, Steve, has worked tirelessly, travelling from his home in Sheffield most weekends, to recreate the cockpit as it would have been during the 593 trials.

He is moving '903, together with the rest of his aviation collection to his new home (complete with large barn I believe) in Scotland.

Steve has his own website: http://www.2av8.co.uk/index.htm

903 cockpit will be in good company as Steve has also got a Jet Provost cockpit. He intends to try and have all that and more on public view one day (a good few years from now probably) but in the meantime he ll be bringing various interesting bits from 903 to Newark Cockpit Fest, he ll be inside probably. Shame it always clashes with Kemble but a quick visit is certainly worth it !do envy him, big barn in the middle of nowhere far from touristy places, surprisingly good weather mostly and one or two well hidden small museums nearby that also started in this way. Just great ! :)
