Royal Wedding

Postby Jogger321 » Sat Apr 02, 2011 8:58 pm

Not sure where 558 stands on its permit to fly over built up areas ...However

On the 29th April there is going to be a Flypast over Buckingham Palace down the Mall as part of the Royal Wedding Celebrations by the Battle of Britain Flight and other aircraft. I wonder if the VTS have attempted to get 558 included?

It would be an amazing opportunity to have worldwide publicity and exposure for the old girl wouldn't it? I'd even help out with a contribution for fuel if required!

Mister Jogger:::::::::::::::

I hesitate to be the first one to reply to this,
but I can't resist!

1) It makes too much sense for 558 to do this.

2) 558 probably didn't receive an invitation, and
it is Bad Form to ASK for one......

But I Do Agree it would be an all-round wonderful
thing to have happen!

Maybe our Pam would make a discreet contact with
the Arrows and drop the hint!

Maybe I should put in a request for a re-routing back over my wedding seeing as it's the same day and just north of London?! :))

A huge and probably the biggest potential opportunity to display 558 to not only a national but also an international audience of millions...I wonder if it is at all possible?..Lets put it this way..If there was still only one Concorde still flying , it would be there would it not?

I agree, Jogger, but who's gonna make it happen?

TVOC are waiting to be asked.

They aren't going to offer.

You are 100% Correct!

But like I said, it makes too much sense for
it to actually happen.........

Not sure any more on the legalities of P to F a/c over London - it was a no no, and there was talk of relaxing the rules. I know Dr P bangs on about her doing the Queens Golden Jubilee but whether they HAVE actually found away forward yet I don't know.

The way I see it is, if TVOC are asked to attend, then they should get paid.................

If TVOC offer, then its free of charge............. ;)

I hate this culture where everyone looks on the dark side and for ulterior motives. Why not view it as two stamps that can be separated for different use?

The same with government decisions - why is a change of plan seen as weak or a uturn - why not view them them as versatile options and the best decision for that particular need at the time!! ~x(
