I do hope man and machine are okay - could have been very nasty by the looks of the aerial shots :(

Crew OK - hope 655 is too.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

She's now back on the pan after a very long and very hard day's recovery work. We'll have a better idea of damage next week but she looks to be reasonably ok.

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

I haven't inspected yet, but from what others tell me we have lost an engine. This isn't a major issue - we have one old and one new available. My main concern is damage to the undercarriage, but she certainly tows straight and true. We weren't actually travelling very fast when we left the runway, but from that point there was very little retardation until she "dug in". Total distance travelled off the tarmac was about 50 mtrs.
