RIP David

Postby Mayfly » Mon Feb 07, 2022 10:00 am

I'm so very sad to let you know that I lost my beautiful, beloved husband David Thomas in the early hours of this morning.

His passing was peaceful and calm and he died in my arms.
I shall miss him terribly.

Pam.

I’m so very sorry, Pam. True gent who will be missed.

Sorry for your loss Pam.

David was an absolute gentleman on the occasions I'd spoken to him, and certainly had some interesting stories to tell.

Thank you all, it is heartening to see so many wonderful comments on various platforms, not only from the public but from his peers too.
I always knew he was special from the first moment I met him but I didn't realise just how deeply he touched many other lives too. There are many lovely comments here https://www.facebook.com/VulcantotheSkyTrust

I also want to say that I am very touched and humbled to see so many of you who haven't logged in to Iconic for so long have done so to show your respect for David.

For that I deeply thank you each of you.

Bless you all.

With love Pam.

Please forgive me...

I have set up a tribute page to DT on the Alzheimer's website.

Alzheimer's is a wicked and cruel disease and the sooner they can find medication that works, never mind a cure the better.

Pam

Can you please give a link to the Tribute Page, Pam.

I've searched but I can't find it and I would like to publicise it elsewhere.

So yesterday I laid my boy to rest.
The service was lovely just what I hoped for, the church was full, the weather appalling - sleet and hail, so I expect DT was looking down with a mischief smile, the vicar was a lovely light hearted character again exactly what I wanted.

Thank you all who donated to David's page, we reached over £1000 yesterday, by the time the page closes if it hasn't reached £!213 I shall make up the amount as that is the combined tail numbers of XM655 & XH558, a fitting tribute I feel.

I have read hundreds of wonderful tributes to David, again I thank each and every one of you for your support.

Pam xx

It was indeed a wonderful service to celebrate David's life, attended by Air Vice Marshals and by erks. You did him proud, Pam.

Kind regards,

Eric

My daughter told me about David this afternoon as she looks at 558's website occasionally. I really don't know what to say, Pam, except that I am so, so sorry. All I can do is send my love and thoughts to you.
