I have just watched the XH558 'Restoration' DVDs again;- but back to back....

That was some fantastic engineering achievement.

At the end of the day we on here are members of an Iconic Aircraft forum and there aren't many aircraft more Iconic than a Vulcan. So a flying Vulcan is priceless in these difficult times when the only things guaranteed to fly are banker's bonuses.

Having said that; watching XM655 on a (really) fast taxy, like in 2011, is also something special.

I'd have to admit to being addicted to all the V-bombers, obviously the Victor is my first addiction but I'm also not adverse to a bit of Vulcan. I've 3 built models of Vulcans, quite a few books and dvd's, oh and a Nav. Radar's upper panel hung on the wall...

Must admit to being quite fond of the Victor too ! Decided not to list all my Vulcan bits , could frighten myself but both Vulcan and Victor are just awesome, seeing them move or fly is simply amazing !

Was quite annoyed to miss out on a Vulcan Grimes beacon still mounted in the chunk of Vulcan skin for sale for a very reasonable price at Waddo airshow one year...

I have a turbine blade out of 607. Aft it returned from its 'jolly' to Port Stanley they did an engine change and the blades were given out to people based at Wddington....me being one of them. We had to polish them up by hand, not easy. They were then sold at air shows to raise money for charity. As a thank you we got to keep one. I had mine mounted on a wooden plinth with a nice plaque. Will get a picture sorted
