Yep - I meant the DH Hornet. No complete example survives of what was effectively the ultimate development of the Mossie. Now if someone was to do both... ;)

It was affectionately known as the 'Pig' for its ability to hunt at night with its nose in the weeds, thanks to its terrain-following radar. ;)

What he said. :D
Especially the bit about the people that say it can't be done. There is no such thing.

....and terrain following radar - another great British invention courtesy of Ferranti for TSR2 and later Vulcan.

I note they have selected there core of controlling staff. I am in favour of the project, but experience has taught me how important it is that any steering group is made up of professional, qualified and trained engineers first and foremost if best use is to be made of the public funds which will inevitably be required. They will need to show they have that, well meaning amateurs will just not do. Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. Good luck to them.

Still think they should build one from scratch.

Oh where can you buy this 'scratch'? I've looked everywhere for it. Can't find it anywhere. Seems to be a very versatile product. :p
