Potential gathering at Bruntingthorpe

Postby Gaz » Sat Dec 01, 2012 11:19 am

We've recently had a projector donated to us, in Guppyland and we're looking at the possibility of showing a film in the back of #1 along with, probably, the NASA doco before the film.

We'd ask for a fiver and we'd throw in a bag of popcorn too :D

It's all dependant on DW saying yes and, potentially, getting a license to screen in public, but, do you think it's a good idea and would anyone from IA be interested in coming??

Will you be wearing your usherets uniform? :-o

Might be a good way to finish a CWJ or LPG or TBAG day but otherwise it would be a long drive just for a film!

That's, kind of, what I was thinking. Tack it on to the end of CWJ

GREAT MINDS think alike. ;)

So then, here's a plan; :-o

FULL, ALL you can eat Breakfast at 08:00 at a nearby hostelry. :D

Transfer to Bruntingthorpe in convoy at 09:30. B-)

Full day at CWJ. :D

17:45 Aviation related film show in the Guppy! :D

Other than the fact that, at 08:00 on the morning of CWJ I'll be at the airfield nursing a REALLY bad hangover, that's a cracking idea! :D

That'd be a good itinerary for an LPG or TBAG day though!

Trying to think of good films to load onto the guppy pc. Obvious one is Top Gun. B.O.B. might be too long, red tails is shite, memphis belle annoyed me.......

Any suggestions??

I still think BOWLING in the Guppy,
perhaps even a tournament, is an
idea worth trying :p

Or how about ARCHERY?????

Absolutely no need, you wont have room until the evening after the breakfast is finished! ;)

Historically i believe it's where the ATC Cadets usually used to bunk down!

Perhaps Gaz could confirm?

They used to until we went in the following morning and found a load of used matches all over the aircraft :-o :-o

and some dozy cow, when they were told not to go into the cockpit, ran through the cockpit door, whilst the trapdoor (Which we left closed) was open and had a very nasty, yet utterly hilarious, fall :ymdevil: :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

Served her right, stupid cow! :D

They camp, now

No :|

There's a fully plumbed in toilet barely 30 seconds walk from the aircraft, so, you can rest easy.

We think Top Gun would probably be the first one we screened :D

As for babysitting services, we could always blindfold him, put ear defenders on him and lock him in a cupboard?? :D
