MotoGP and World SuperBikes 2011

Postby Tonka 71 » Mon May 16, 2011 10:29 am

Does anyone watch the two major motorcycling series if you are an avid follower like me who do you think will win the Motogp title this year.

Can anyone stop Casey stoner on the Honda and can Valentino Rossi get the Ducati to a winning pace.. B-)

In world superbikes can aqnyone pin back Carlos Checa's lead or will it be a winning season for the spainiard.... :)

There is a thread here for MotoGP which used to be quite active until one of the main participants threw her dolly out of the pram and left.

Not seen anything on World Superbikes.

As for predictions, have you seen the mess some folks are making of Fantasy F1? Iconic is seriously lacking in the clairvoyance department. :)) :))

I follow MotoGP :D
I ended up talking to myself about it so I stopped bothering =)) =)) =)) =))

Don't really follow WSB, I did a bit last year when Roger Hayden was racing there, but he's buggered off back to AMA SBKs.

I want Simoncelli to win it as he's mental :-o =))

Such a shame what happened with him and Dani on Sunday, race control were clearly watching him closely.

I hope Dani is fit for Barcelona.

If I say Casey will win the title I'll only jinx him, so, I think he will win it :p =)) =)) =)) =))

Lets just say this is only my second full year following MotoGP and I get the impression he's a bit of a *insert rude word here* =)) =))

Can't deny he's talented, but I'd rather root for someone like Nicky Hayden who always comes across as a really nice down to earth bloke :D

We had loads of SPANISH fans through the Station last night, apparently they can't read timetables and seemed surprised that ALL of the Hotels are fully booked for a radius of 50 miles! =))

Big fan of GP although not when Stoner is winning. Not sure what Rossi must be thinking. He took a really bad bike in the Yamaha and made it into a world beater. But the Ducati why is it so difficult to ride. Stoner seems to be the only one to have tamed it. I hope it comes together with Ducati but has Rossi lost the edge now after his leg break last year ? I dont know but the spark seems to have gone. I think he should have retired when he was at the very top but thats just my opinion. I just hope GP doesn't turn into Stoner going round and round way out front. Also bring on the 1000''s as the 800's seem very dangerous to the riders.

Very keen on World Superbikes too although have missed some of the races this year.

There was an absolutly horrific crash in the MotoGP race this morning :(

It lead to the race being cancelled because Marco Simoncelli was in such a bad condition all the medics were needed to treat him.

As of 10am, all we know is he was concious but critical.

My thoughts are very much with him right now as he fights for him life, I hope he'll make a full recovery.

The footage showed his helmet came off mid crash :(
I just hope he's ok!!

Blimey, what sort of forces must have been present for the LID to come off? :-o

I honestly can't even think strait right now :(
When Tomizawa passed away last year It was sad, but I didn't feel this bad.

I was a massive fan of Marco's, he was such a talent :( (as was Shoya Tomizawa, I just hadn't "got to know" him like with Simoncelli).
He leaves a massive hole in MotoGp :(
I'm glad he got two podiums though, shame he never got the win :( He had such potential that we'll never know :(

I think I'm done with MotoGP.
Only started watching it because it filled a gap on non F1 weekends, but really got into it this last two years.
Now I'm not sure I want to continue watching.
But I will watch, wouldn't be right to stop.

Such a waste of a young life and huge talent. He really brought a bit of flair to the MotoGP paddock and will be sorely missed. We should also spare a thought for Colin Edwards and Valentino who will certainly have this on their minds for a long time to come, even though there was nothing they could do to prevent what happened.
