Funding update - Sept 2014

Postby Wedgy » Sun Sep 07, 2014 6:46 am

Hi all, hope you are well :)

IA really just ticks over these days - Im sure those who still visit here get some enjoyment from it.
Our finances have been winding down - but VERY slowly over the last year. This morning I got notification that the domain was up for renewal and £6 was paid. That £6, along with the server fee will now wipe out our remaining balance.

We have 4 regular subscribers remaining - that income covers 33% of our monthly fees, large donations last year have kept our finances healthy.

Thoughts and suggestions welcomed. One off donations welcomed :)

I think its clear, IA's financial future is limited, but we have lasted so long on little funds, I hope we can keep going just a little longer for those who still enjoy this place :)

Sorry Matt I have been away for a week in Wales.

IA was there when I needed her so the favour will be returned, I know membership has tailed off and if that's the way it goes then so be it but until you pull the plug you have my support.

I too have just got back from being 'out of circulation' for a while (10 days to be precise). I do so hope that IA will get the support it deserves and keeps going for many years to come.

Although my main contributions are associated with Steam Locomotives (Restoration, etc.) I also love Aeroplanes (from WW1 up to the present day) and get great pleasure from reading all the contributions to this Forum.

Personally, I would be very sad to lose such a valuable asset that is Iconic Aircraft.

Thanks to all who donated :) Your contributions have given IA a 'shot in the arm' keeping it going into 2015 :)

There is one donator I need to thank - but cannot match the email address to a username. So if you have donated and not heard back from me personally - please PM me here :)

Missed this as well, due to lurking and not logging in, added a bit more to the pot and will increase my monthly donation later when I suss out how to do it.

I know I don't post these days, but Iconic was a help when I had a a few problems with another site and it would be a shame to see it go like E-goat nearly did. Trouble is I think the likes of facebook and twitter have started to erode the traditional forums.

Hi Mick how are you?

I agree a lot of fora are not as busy as they once were people seem to keep an eye on them but don't post so much.

[Sorry Wedgy don't mean to derail]
