Is to be no more.... :( I'm sad but had decided I wasn't going anymore anyway they mention Scampton but there is IMHO a very small chance of it going there.

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

A petition to the Ministry of Defence to campaign for the event’s safety gained over 4,600 signatures, and Lincoln’s MP Karl McCartney also joined the campaign to see the return of the show.

Oh well if the local MP joined the campaign that's it then - sorted ..... NOT ..... and that petition worked too .... NOT.... ;) :p

The RAF has been conducting a review of its air show commitments

In my experience 'review' or 'consultation period' all mean the same thing nowadays .. we've made our mind up already - it ain't happening - but we'll make you think you have a shout even though you haven't ~x(

Airshows are dwindling away year on year - and these recent crashes of the Gnat and the Hunter just fuel the arguement to stop them ... :(

The loss to the local economy must be huge.

But I suppose with the reductions in our armed forces they no longer see a need these for recruiting purposes.

I think "security" is an excuse.

Does that now leave Cosford as the only RAF airshow?
I'd rather be skiing
