Little Gransden 24-4-2014 part one - the display aircraft

I've now had time to go through all my pics from Lt Gransden which once again was an excellent show and this time it was a sell out

Lauren Richardson show off her Pitts to it's full potential:

Storch arriving

this particular Tiger Moth from Cambridge brings back special memories for me, I arranged a flight for my late father in this for his 60th birthday, I think it was the best birthday present he ever had - he learnt to fly in a Tiger Moth whae he joined the RAF and the instructor was amazed how much he remembered more that 40 years later

a couple of Mustang Marinell, excellent once again

the Spitfire showing a topside despite the moans of one or two UKARians who complained that topsides were as rareas rocking horse droppings

Mark Jeffries did his usual spectacular take off.

and had time to wave to the crowd

there have been numerous pics of the 2 Lancasters posted everywhere in the last 2 weeks but nobody has tried a sepia one that I have found so I thought I would have a go

Some stunning photography there ... :ymapplause: :ymapplause: I particularly like the Spit topside ... nice :D

How come Kev Rumens is the only one who gets that much rotation on wingovers :p it's well past the vertical and a couple more degrees that would be a roll ;) :)

I thought it was Kev, the commentator thought it was Kev and hence the whole audience thought it was Kev. However, I was corrected on VTTS by somebody who would definitely know (Sam, one of the groundcrew) who said Phil O'Dell was flying that display so now we have 2 pilots with that sort of wingover in their repertoire which must be good news.
It certainly drew more than a few gasps from the crowd and one of my friends who I was with said ' I thought he was going to roll it'. It was quite spectacular just a shame he didn't do a full display - who knows what else we might have got with it!
But there again it was dull according to those that know on UKAR :((
