Signed but I don't place much faith in these sort of petitions. I would sign anything to keep the air show.

It will be a huge loss to Lincolnshire and the north of the country I can't think of another 'proper' air show in this region where you get t/o and landings except Prestwick some 325 miles north and 6.5+ drive. To the best of my knowledge it costs the MOD nothing as the air show is self funding.

There may of course be operational reasons but I can't think how that would cause problems.

Signed..... However, we may have a less sympathetic armed forces government in
power after next year .... :(

Now you know how I feel stuck down here ... I say 'stuck' but I wouldn't live anywhere else ... but the principle is the same I have to drive a LONG way to get to a meaningful airshow of any size ;) :p

Just from my experience, I travel up for the airshow. This year I stayed three nights in a hotel. Few if any hotels have a spare room. I spent in restaurants, shops etc. Previous years I have visited other attractions in the area.

In the hotel were visitors from Holland and Germany. At Waddington you hear many nationalities talking.

People may well discover the area and return when there isn't an airshow. So it isn't just money spent at airshow time. etc..
I'd rather be skiing
