Spotters Corner

Postby Wedgy » Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:35 pm

A thread for those aircraft you spot when you are least expecting to.
e.g not at a planned event or at work (MR ;) )

Post photos if you get the chance :D

Today saw 3 Chinooks in formation whist driving eastbound on the M3 just before Junction 6 (Reading). So, south of the M3 near reading. Puzzled. Will have to look up where they might have been flying from/to when I get home.

Wedgy,
I think that administering us lot has addled your mind. Junction 6 of the M3 is one of the Basingstoke junctions and is pretty close to RAF Odiham and all of it's Chinooks. It's definate Chinook country and you see them all the time on this stretch of the M3.

Don't tell Naddy as she'll have no trouble finding reasons to break down and hang around on the hard shoulder. [-x
That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college!

...and Aldershot isn't far away - Europe's largest military training area! ;)

on my thousands of A303/M3 jaunts, typically I'd see stuff (air or road) either around Aldershot or Salisbury - obvious reasons :D

not sure this counts but I just seen a Lightning cockpit go by my house - on a trailer obviously - wonder if someone in the village has bought it? as I don't live on a main thoroughfare - hmmmmmmm :-?

On approach (on my scanner) into Waddo this morning, whilst we were on the way to Brunty, but didn't see it till we were on th way home, so it's not the best pic in the world :(

The pilot had a very sexy voice though ;) :D

Poor show - I need tips from Mackrick on how to surgically implant a camera to the human body :D
