why is it when I click a link on other fora new window will open, but when I post that same link on here it opens in the same window?
I always preview the post to make sure the link works & when I go back to submit my post I lose it

Only when the link is in the URL tags will it open in a new window. Are you saying that even with the URL tags, it opens in the same window?
