I think your problem is almost certainly your cookies. You might want to try the security level thing again, and deleting the cookie too, restarting you browser afterwards.

If you've got any other security software have a go at disabling it temporarily to see if that makes any difference.

Just done a quick google on IE7 cookies and it seems a few people are having issues with them. I'll see if I can see any solutions (some are suggesting re-installing IE7).

You could always install FireFox or Google Chrome. Not tried the latter yet as it's still in beta and not available for Linux yet, but a few people have said it's very good, including XM.

I don't doubt it's my PC but the only problems I have is with this site since Wedgy transfered it

this is what I get when I try to log in to chat

log in page
Image

takes me here
Image

into chat

then 10 secs later we go back to the log in page

I also have problems sometimes when posting I hit the post button & the page that say unavailable crops up - I hit the back button & it goes back to the post a reply page but of course I've lost my post \:D/

Have been reading about many quite similar issues with IE7. There's been some kind of cookie bug with it for over a year. As far as I can tell it's not yet been resolved. Some suggestions people have made:-

Check the date & time on your PC, and the timezone.
Clear your internet cache (temporary internet files).
Add http://www.iconicaircraft.co.uk to the trusted sites list (Tools->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites).

You might consider reinstalling IE7, or using another browser. It might also just sort itself out.

I do have plans to make this site SSL in due course, so you will be able to do that then.

I would really recommend trying Mozilla Firefox http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/, you can run both IE and Firefox together, if this site still doesnt work in firefox, just uninstall it. Ive run both for many years, I just choose which one I fancy using each day :)

It should do. IE7 has a tickbox to specify whether https is required or not (well, does on mine anyway).

:-?

Sure you haven't got any third party security a software on there, like CA Internet Security? Maybe because the website moved, it thinks it's dodgy in some way and has blacklisted it (really guessing now :-\)

It also seems like your PC just hasn't fully worked out the website has moved yet (from one of your earlier posts), which is usually something called DNS, but the cache should only last a day at the most so it should be OK. Just to be sure you can type:-

ipconfig /flushdns

in the Start->Run command box. Won't do any harm so worth a try.

Matt
Any thoughts on what your going to do on the front page ?
Or the rest of the site come to that...
Do you intend to leave the TU144 design on there ?

The front page graphics, and the header for the forums were all knocked up by me in 5mins just to get something there. SM did request someone to design some permanent graphics, will poke them :P (don't know if they wish to be publicised ;) )

Why not open it up to forum members for thoughts ?
If you want a hand coding it let me know.

Just a thought, but could you do like a member of the month thing where whoever gives the best contribution to the forum that month is selected and then they can feel special?
