It's a very rare occurrence so we have to make good use of it when it does deign to shine. =)) =)) =))

I suspect it will pick again with the on set of the air show season these things always go in cycles - most fora I frequent are quiet at the minute.

Rather sweeping statements there Dan4th – and I take offence to it on many levels.

Dan4th wrote:Why is No-one Supporting this FORUM????????????

Many many people support this forum. I would hope people post on IA, not solely to “support” the forum, but because they enjoy IA. What about those who pop onto IA just to have a read? Should we persecute them for not posting? We have sponsors that give generously so that the server can be paid for each month. We have moderators who give their free time generously for little/no thanks.
People come and go on IA, sometime they come back, sometimes they don’t – its personal preference.
Posts per day have been known to go down to around 40s sometimes – you can make statistics tell any story you want them to tell.

of last 24 hrs: Xplumberlives (21), Dan4th (11), Hihonyr8811 (10), Jigsaw (7), Nickolas (7), Sploosher (6), Mayfly (6), Aceyone (5), Hungry Haggis (4), Gaz (4)

IA is as good as the quality of the content, not the quantity. (Apologies in advance for picking out individuals) But to illustrate .... Who has the right to say that you or XPL are supporting IA more than HH or Gaz? You’ve posted more, but maybe their posts are more interesting? Maybe they visit IA more often, tell more of their friends about IA. Maybe someone who doesnt appear on the list has given large sums of money to help with the server fees, are they not supporting IA? I’m certainly not in a position to judge any of that ... who is? You?

Dan4th wrote:This Forum is DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You opinion - everyone has one.

IA will always be open for as long as a few people are interested in coming here for aviation or non-aviation discussion/chat/banter. Whether we have 2000 posts per day or 2 posts per day.

This post may come across as defensive, if so I apologise, but I cannot see how your post helps improve what you see to be a dying forum. Others may agree with you, others maybe offended by your post, some may choose to reply, others may not - its a choice which can be made freely without the risk of being blamed for not supporting IA.

As long as there are silly buggers around like me, Pam, TDC et al the forum will continue in its 'structured hap hazard fun loving, don't poke your head above the parapet way'.

Yes peeps come and peeps go BUT if you have been absent for a while then questions do get asked. Concern was raised when Danforth went off the radar, SM was the same. BUT when D4th reappeared he was welcomed back like a long lost relative.

All is quiet but well.

As ever it would be nice if this Forum was busy, but it all depends upon what is going on in peoples lives! ;)

No offense was intended, and I sincerely
apologize if any was taken.

I do realize that participation levels are
a function of peoples' lives, but also please
bear in mind that my personal level of
frustration might be a function of a few
things going on in MY life right now....

Anyhow, as you were.

Life goes on.

Haggis, you have always been here for us,
and I always appreciate your posts, and the
following isn't for you.

It isn't about just sitting back and being
entertained, and a healthy forum relies upon
participation.

You will get OUT of this "Forum" exactly
what you put INTO it.

I've had communication with a few posters
who have departed and who couldn't be
bothered to take part.

They couldn't understand the "Give/Get"
aspect of it, and things got Boring for them.

We all have lives and other things to do,
but keeping things moving along can only
be good for all of us.

Iconic is a living thing if we support it/her.

And that's all I have to say.
