Just a quick question

Has someone tried to hack my account?
Or am I just being paranoid

No idea why anyone would want to, but I only have to sign in when I get rid of them cookie things
Anyway when I got here this morning it told me I had to sign in which I did but it told me I had tried to sign in too many times with the wrong password (which isn't right as this is the first time I have put my password in a couple of weeks and it wasn't wrong then), so I carefully put in my password again and it still told me it was wrong, so I've had to reset it.

Was this just me?, anyone else had this? or was it a glitch in the system?
Anyway, sorted now and password changed on e-mail account just in case

Not had that as such on here Helen but a number of times it's signed me out after I've browsed another site..but I have had your problem on other sites recently.

Cookies only have a limited life - so if you havent been on IA so much over Xmas then they might expire if you have auto-login enabled.

It is possible that someone tried to access your account, afterall, they already know your username and they only have to try 5 passwords before locking it out If this is the case, take comfort in the fact they didnt succeed

But then again it could be a glitch - afterall, all a cookie is ... a wee text file

Well as far as I'm concerned a cookie is a food item which I don't like as they normally use dark chocolate

I was just concerned that I couldn't get my password to work either (but solved that with a quick reset )

Had to login this time. Put username and password in correct, and it came up that I had exceeded my login attempts and to continue, type in my username and password, plus two words that were shown, and it worked. Never had it happen before.
