Image hosting

With PB being a bloody pain again - would it be possible to upload straight from the pc to IA? Would it mean an upgrade of the server, or more bandwidth for IA which would mean more cost.......

Mr Admin your input would be appreciated please :D

The quality is nothing compared to the originals :(( & I personally think Flickr is better but refuse to pay £25 a year to upload more than 50 images a month X(

I assumed that would be the case, but as a numpty I don't see the difference between linking to PB or linking to a private PC?? It was just a thought as PB wouldn't let me upload anything, so I opened a an Image shack account !!!

I have free web space - I think!!!

I sacked PB a long time ago, my images never reflected what was posted. I use Image shack and always like the results. ;)

That's interesting, I've noticed that PhotoBucket's quality has been shocking lately and make my already bad pictures look a whole load worse!

Will try Image Shack and see what happens :)

If you use Image Shack .... use the "Direct Link" code for posting on IA and put the IMG tags on yourself :)
(don't use the "Forum Code")

Remember, max width for images is 1024.

Yes I found that my first upload came out thumb nail size!!

Jim I have made a couple of albums is there anyway of naming them? and does Imageshack have any restrictions, I believe with flickr you can only see the last 200 photos - anything like that with IS?

IMAGESHACK has a HEIGHT restriction! :p

To be honest I dont know, I dont do the album stuff with it, just upload images, I use the "i" for share it, copy and paste the article and paste. All you need to do is remove the details etc. Just as an aside if you fill your account then just set up another yahoo account with different details...and hey your away. As an aside to this have any of you set your camera up to log your details when taking photographs. In your settings you can do this. Mine have my surname, postcode and mobile telephone number. This way anyone wishing to use your shot without royalties can't say they didnt know who took it. :D

Well I seem to be having more problems with Photoshack than I was with PB :((

Takes ages to upload them to IA!!!

Wedgy I notice when I copy the link the [IMG] is in capitals but IA changes them to lower case any for reason for this - would it be quicker to change them myself?

Why bother changing them - I leave the capital ones which come over automatically when using PB and all appears as it should on here :p :D

Experiment .......

With capital IMG from PB
Image

With Lower case img as set by IA
Image

No difference to me - am I missing something ;)

EDIT ... aha - now I see - I've gone back in to edit my post and you are right (as always :p ) - I've never noticed that before - IA has indeed changed the case on what I left as Upper case - intriguing ... so that proves there is no need to change it as it does it for you automatically :D

It will take a while to post photos to IA, as IA has to check each link with PB or PS etc etc. If either one of IA, PB, PS or your net connection are running slow - you could be waiting 5mins for them to post ;)

Quite normal :)
