Google Chrome

Postby Iggie » Thu Oct 29, 2009 4:36 pm

I seem to have aquired Google Chrome somehow.....but it does seem faster than Internet Explorer, so may persevere with it.
One problem I have is that YouTube clips do not show (or therefore play) in posts....I get a square saying the required plug in is not installed.

Any ideas anyone?

Or should I bin the Chrome thing? :D

I think you need to install Flash player in Google Chrome ;)

Don't know it myself ... but have you tried right clicking the error?

I had this problem a few months ago out of
nowhere. After lots of digging I discovered
I had to upgrade my player software in a
special way (or something...) Finally went
to tech support through my ISP and a very
annoyed young person walked me through
the process over the phone.

Got a follow-up call the next day wanting
me to evaluate my "experience". Told them
he was rude and difficult and surly, but he
solved my problem so I was EXTR Happy!

Maybe your player needs an upgrade, Igz?????

I tried right clicking and nothing came up; that's got to be a first!!

Come to think of it, FlashPlayer did tell me a couple of weeks ago that an update was available. I ignored it in the best traditions of ludditeism; perhaps I should try that first.

I am NOT calling my ISP, I don't speak the same language as the people the other end, and all I do is end up very annoyed ~x(

EDIT: Yayyyy, that wasn't so hard! All sorted & I can watch D4th's videos again!! \:D/

I'm sure TDC uses chrome & I don't remember him saying he couldn't see utube vids

as for ISPs you need to be able to understand the accent - saying that my new has support in Nottingham so I'm happy :D

Nottingham? Still another language from where I am!! :D

Wedgy; IA looks exactly the same, the only difference I can see (& explains the faster downlods I suspect) is that the font is more 'blocky' in Chrome than in IE, less pixels?? But it works fine now!

I've been using Chrome since the day it came out, never had any real problems with it. Saying that, I've never had any issues with any of the IE versions either :D

I've been using "Bing" which is Bill Gates'
answer to Google for a little over a month
now, and it's a great improvement over
Old Google. Haven't tried their new one
and can't make a direct comparison, but
this "Bing" is working out great so far........

Re: Google Chrome

well I down loaded Google Chrome & so far I like it certainly speeds things up!!!- only 2 down downsides so far but perhaps my settings

first spell checker [I do use it sometimes] highlights the misspelt word but doesn't correct it & the second I can't seem to add a favourite to the tool bar

any one help?

Firstly, with the Spellchecker, right click the highlighted word and it gives you options :)

Secondly, when you click the Add Favourite star, change the 'Folder' to 'Bookmarks Bar'
