What's the next new Locomotive after 'Tornado'?

Postby 34053 » Mon Sep 23, 2013 2:58 pm

Now that the Peppercorn 'A1' Steam Locomotive 60163 'Tornado' is running successfully on the Main Line, the question asked of the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust is 'what's next?'. Well, we now have the answer.....................
The P2 Steam Locomotive Company has now been set up, to build a new Gresley 'P2' Steam Locomotive, for Main Line and Preserved Railway running. The main advantage is that a large number of the new parts required for 'Tornado' are identical for use on the 'P2'. Therefore, all the patterns for those castings are already available.

All success to them. They probably won't have trouble financing the project.
