'The Watercress Line' Revisited (at last!!)

It was in September 1979 when I last visited the 'Mid-Hants Railway'! This Railway runs for 10 miles between Alresford and Alton (where there is a Main Line Interchange Station) in Hampshire.
On 7th October I made a, long overdue, return visit. Some pics will follow but, in the meantime and as a 'taster', here is a video that I took. It is in three parts, but be sure to turn the volume up for the second part. This is part of the 3 miles of the steep 1 in 60 climb between the Stations of 'Alton' and 'Medstead and Four Marks' (the highest Station, at over 630 feet above sea level, in Southern England). The Fireman has to work continuously during this climb, as you will see when the exhaust turns darker briefly as each shovel-full of coal goes into the Firebox. Enjoy:

I have a question!

Does Mama Wedgy enjoy this as much as
you, Ray, or is it just the pleasure of
your company ;)

Thanks for all of it, too!

M-U-C-H more entertaining than TV :D

Thank you Dan. I am extremely pleased to say that Mama Wedgy does actually enjoy these trips as well, except perhaps the 'dirty' bits (the Works areas, etc) and 'leaves me to it' in those cases!. So I can't complain.

At least you don't have to GO

Why do they all put us through
that ordeal, anyhow??????

You seem to be exempt, Ray!

Good On You!
