'257 Squadron' has recently arrived at the Great Central Railway, ready to be part of their 'Winter Steam Gala' (Friday 28th to Sunday 30th January 2022). Other 'Guest' Locomotives will also be taking part (see the GCR website for full details).

5 Locomotives will be in operation on the Friday. Up to 8 Locomotives will be in operation on the Saturday and Sunday.

Hope it runs well. I'll catch up with photos and videos after everything has finished (as usual).

'257 Squadron' has been at the Spa Valley Railway, in operation on their 'Polar Express' Trains since 18th November, until 23rd December 2022. These Trains are very popular each year (usually selling out within a few days of the Tickets going on sale!).

The Locomotive will remain at the Spa Valley Railway, deputising for 'Sir Keith Park' which is currently undergoing its' '10 yearly' Major Overhaul. Therefore, maintaining the presence of a 'Battle of Britain Class' Locomotive at the Railway

Very good. Glad that the line will have a BoB representation for a while to come.

It has been announced by Southern Locomotives Ltd, that '257 Squadron' will visit the Kent & East Sussex Railway at the end of March. What a sight and sound that will be when the Locomotive tackles Tenterden Bank, approaching Tenterden Station!

'Squadron' will return to the Spa Valley Railway for their 'Summer Steam Up' weekend of 17th & 18th June.

Here is an excellent Video, by The Southerner, of '257 Squadron' at The Kent and East Sussex Railway, on 8th April 2023.
