King Edward I at Didcot 16/04/2011

KEI arrived at Didcot last week just after KEII was officially launched. She was visiting to use Didcot's wheeldrop and for routine maintenance to be carried out. That is now done and she is being made ready for a week today when KEI and KEII will both be in steam together (first time in 44 years) and double heading on Didcot's main demonstration line.

I popped along today and took a few photo's before the big day. Next weekend will be heaving with people so thought I'd go early and get some relatively clear shots.

The engines were not together but I managed to get them in one frame together, so near and yet so far!! I may pop back tomorrow and see if they have been moved. One thing is for sure, both engines are now immaculately clean and looking absolutely stunning!!

Here are some pics....

Love the pics 350w (even the 'non-KE' one). Be great when KEII and KEI 'double head' the train; what a historic event that will be!
