King Edward II Launch Weekend (Sat Photo's Added)

Postby 350wedge » Sun Apr 03, 2011 11:03 pm

I thought I'd start a new thread going for the launch weekend pictures. I spent all weekend at the Launch of KEII at Didcot, had a wonderful time and took stacks of photo's. It really was one of those unmissable occasions and fittingly on Saturday as her official presentation started the sun came out and lit up proceedings beautifully.

I'll add a load of photo's here in due course but first off I'd like to put up a video clip of a King doing what a King does best!! If you are able change the quality to 480p and turn UP the sound :D

I said under the other Topic how 'great it was to see KEII in action again'. Even better now to hear her in action! I did as you suggested and with the sound turned up to MAXIMUM. Fantastic"!!

Right here are a selction of photo's from the launch day itself, the Saturday. I'll upload my Sunday photo's another time, havent had the time as yet to go through them properly.

Saturday was the busy day though as you can see from one of the photo's. It makes life quite tricky to get a clear shot but i managed to get into a few decent positions throughout the day!!

The next pair of photo's are from the engines very first move in public! I managed to get a spot at the front, there was rather a huge crowd behind me!!

Thank you 350w. All the Locomotives look immaculate - particularly KEII. Also encouraging to see such a good crowd there for this occasion.

All the engines looked lovely, the dicot ones had all been cleaned up for the occasion and the King was immaculate!!

I'm going to pop up there on Saturday to see King Edward 1 which has arrived now. I know they will both be running together on the 23rd April but I think at some point they plan to pose them together as well. Might be this weekend, might not but I think i'll pop up for a looksee!!
