I see shes stopping at Grantham for 35 minutes or so - presumably to top up with water? - I didn't see the TG prog featuring her, so is there still a water charging point at Grantham or do they tank it in.

well not a good place for photos too many electric power lines in the way but a good spot to see her.

Decided not to go to Grantham station as I wanted moving pics - not a good shot either but it does prove I saw her..

All my pics were a bit of let down, but DT got some footage with the camcorder but will have to wait for that :D

On the Main Line Steam Locomotive Excursions, the Tour Operator (in this instance, 'Steam Dreams') has to arrange for water to be provided by either a 'Bowser' (water tanker) or our faithful friends, 'the blues and twos' (the local Fire Service).

Love the picture MF and looking forward to the video. Glad you made it this time!

Mama Wedgy and I were down at Romney Sands and Dymchurch all day yesterday. Of course, I had to spend some time watching the one third scale steam loco's on the 'Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.(Now there's a surprise!!!! Could do a whole new Topic on the 'RH&DR' some time).

I know it's not strictly 26/09/2009 as the thread title says - but Tornado is currently on a 2 week stint at the Severn Valley Railway plying between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.

Here is a very evocative autumn flavour photo on the Severn Valley taken by my best mates son .....

Here's 2 more - a little less 'artistic' - taken at Kidderminster by my mate - note ...propensity towards grey haired old farts :))

A) I have renamed this Topic (was 'Tornado' 26.09.09) to reflect the more general content covering Tornado's appearances around the Country.

B) With this in mind, just a reminder (as pointed out by Mayfly some time ago, under the original Topic) that 60163 is making two excursions to York this month: on Thursday 26th November and Friday 27th November. Both are from London Kings Cross Station. For final details and timings, nearer the time, visit the usual website:

http://www.uksteam.info/tours/index.htm

It's best to check again just the day before the actual date, as there can be 'last minute' changes to the 'diagrams' (schedules) for a whole number of reasons.
