Have asked Wedgy to put a permanent link in the link forum too!!

Livery Change for 'Tornado':

During Tornado's winter maintenance at the NRM she will be repainted from the current 'Apple Green' to BR 'Brunswick Green' in 2011,' by 'popular demand' (of customers and supporters) for a limited period, then back to 'Apple Green' again. The overall plan is for 'Tornado' to carry all the permutations of the historic 'A1' liveries.

I understand that the reason for the cancellation of the Excursions on 3rd June and 12th June was the discovery of a 'leaking tube', following the Excursion on 31st May. All being well, she should be up and running again in time for the Swanage Excursion on Wednesday 16th June.

Yes, far too young! The Boiler Manufacturer and Insurance Company are involved in sorting out this problem. I just hope that it gets resolved quickly!

As I mentioned a while ago, this Wednesday (23rd June) 60163 'Tornado' will be taking 4468 'Mallard' from the NRM York to the NRM Shildon, whilst work is carried out to the Great Hall at York. 'Tornado' then returns 'Light Engine' to York (and then overnight to Crewe). The 'Timings' for the York outward and return journeys (and back to Crewe) have only just (today) been released and here they are:

http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t10/t0623p.htm

Try to see this historic event, if you can.
