3 of the top 4 hottest places in Lincs yesterday was Waddington, Coningsby & Cranwell - guess who lives in the middle of the triangle :

Mind you we did have a very nice breeze. Forecast for the next few days is about 72deg so positive chilly :))

So did we all survive the storm? - a bit windy here yesterday afternoon more so than over night. We've had some rain but not much else.

Tipped it down in Northants overnight.

Bright sunshine now ~ windy but nothing excessive.

Some trees down in Hertford, but generally we seem to have missed the worst of it.

It was here about 4 hrs ago but has subsided somewhat. We lost 5 ridge tiles off the garage 2 weeks ago in the gales and although it was re-roofed only 4 years ago we can't find any to match ~x(

It's not forecast too for then week at least. I really pity those down the South West tho' I notice it didn't take long for focus on the news to move to Berkshire and Surrey.

True, but understandable if you look at the number of properties actually involved.

Yes we're still here ... treading water :D :D

Dawlish was amazing ... that is/was the main railway line into Cornwall ...

Image
Image

6 weeks to fix that ...and the 2 other rail links out have had large landslides - so no trains in or out of Cornwall for quite a while now :(

Perranporth got plastered too .. The Watering Hole cafe is hanging on by a thread ..

Image

And at Seaton a cafe owner on the beach said she normally has a 15 foot drop down to the beach ... now she has a 5 foot climb UP to the beach ... a 20 foot bank of sand thrown up in one night :-o

Sennen Cove - 200ft spray

The power of the sea ... incredible ;)

We had a cracking thunder storm yesterday and Waddington's runway was hit, put a big hole in it 1,500ft from the threshold. Now closed until Monday.
