Brass monkeys beware!!!

Started snowing here about 2pm and has settled on the roads. It was much warmer today as all the hoar frost has thawed but you wouldn't know it if you step out side - bloody cold, [sorry Helen] :p

Talking of idiots on the road......

I was watching the snow out of the window when this car come strait at me, and hits the curb with a big bang :-o =))
He was going far too fast for the road and the weather.

This is our corner (taken about 20 minutes ago, you can see the lines where he failed to turn)

Image

Every year someone gets it wrong, one year someone ended up going over the curb and beaching their car on the grass.

Same, I didn't know whether to run or laugh :))
If he'd been going a few miles an hour faster, he might have jumped the curb and hit the lamp post.
Luckily he got out, checked his car and drove off, probably because he knew that I saw how his driving was (mum saw too). I didn't even get a chance to go out and and see if he needed any assistance.

Hope you don't meet any idiots on your way home :)

S.W.T.S.M.B.O. aka Mrs XP has driven from Peterborough to her parents near Sevenoaks in Kent due to her father being ill. :(

She just took it steady and had lots of sensible stuff in the car! ;)

I've driven home from Peterborough and the vast majority of people are just crawling along at 20 MPH! ~x(

We had that on the way home from town XP - it hadn't started to snow, in fact we hadn't had any for 2 days and the roads were clear at that time. It wasn't even foggy but any one would have thought you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. ~x(

Been snowing here since 3pm but hardly anything on the ground as it's really fine (boring) snow.

We have maybe half a foot, I have no intention of measuring it or anything :)) :))
But it's more like frozen rain (if you know what I mean) than proper snow flakes.
Looks very pretty in the street lights though, all sparkly :))
Another car went sideways round our corner, I didn't see it, mum did though, said it did it very gracefully =)) =))

One thing I actually LIKE about snow
is what it does to alter Sounds :D

Everything sounds quieter and quite
different with a layer of "The White
Stuff" on the ground....

Definitely agree with you there Dan4th, up in my local woods it was so peaceful. Only sounds were the sounds of trees snapping under the weight of the snow!

Have had a lovely day off school too :D
Fly fast jets and/or C130s over my house please, I'm bored!

It's my favourite time of year for listening to Tawny Owls, I actually saw one too, which makes a change as they are normally so elusive.

Oh that us so realistic :)) I would hasten to add that I am talking about major roads here [well major for Lincolnshire] that do get salted and not estate roads like Helen is talking about.

We are up Hula-Hoop and I and are just breakfasting before going shooting for the day. :D

We are NOT being joined by our Guppy correspondent due to the snow! :-o He only has a Volvo 4x4 and has gone home to hide after managing to cover 3 miles :-o

Bacon Grill and Hash Browns with hot coffee to set us up until the shoot lunch! :D
