Light dusting this morning, but it is snowing again in sunny Welwyn Garden City. It's quite heavy, but wet snow and not settling on footpaths........................yet.

Started off snowing again with a light dusting about half an hour ago and is gradually getting heavier.

Time to batten down the hatches and get a good film on :D

Absolutely lovely cold crisp day here in the wilds of Upper Cambridgeshire!

About -6°C at the moment :-o

Same here - no wind and beautifully sunny but boy is it cold. All the trees and shrubs have that wonderful hoar frost on the branches making a beautiful spectacle.

Sounds as if there 'could be' some serious snow 'coming in from the South West' tonight/tomorrow, also affecting London and the South East. ''Southern' and 'South West Trains' are preparing a Special Timetable (ie; 'Cancellations') together with 'First Great Western'. Keep warm!!

I don't feel bad for laughing at this because if you ignore the warning signs then you deserve what you get.

Makes me wonder what's going on with that one spot though, I hope someone put something on it to make it less slippery or something.

The cones concentrate the foot fall in to a smaller place and add to the slippery surface!

Had to admire the girl who took the trouble to arrange the bollard ( and the signs on them ) and help tp pick up the faller but if they can put bollards down why can't they grit it as well ?

That's what I was thinking, I can't understand it, and it says this person who filmed it was there for HOURS!! that's awful IMO. There's probably some law that says you can't or something.

I still laughed though ;) =)) .

Helen

If the good natured people cleared the snow/ice and then someone fell over would the original person be liable for any injury?

Now starting to settle on the bits that were cleared with salt and grit!

The journey home could be interesting!

Is your car a heavy one Dave ,my new one ( Nissan Qashqai ) isn't, although it has bigger wheels and an increased height ,is ( or seems ) lighter than my old Primera which was a lump but I never had problems in snow/ice with it cos of the weight over the front wheels, haven't tried this one in inclement weather yet ,but it does go quick compared to the Primera !
