Paul here a.k.a Tinwolf.
I was in the Royal Air Force for 23 years (1977 to 2000) as an air traffic controller which is where I got my interest in "classic" aircraft from (but they weren`t classic when I was playing with them).
1977 - 1979 RAF Coningsby operating F-4M
1979 - 1982 RAF Boulmer, Border radar
1982 - 1987 RAF Cranwell operating Jet Provosts (yawn)
1987 - 1989 RAF Leeming During transition from being a closed station to operating Tornado F-3, interesting times.
1989 - 1991 RAF Finningley operating Dominie, Jetstream, JP, Hawk, Bulldog and many other aircraft during air shows.
1991 - 1992 Airport camp Belize, Butcher radar, Harriers
1992 - 1995 back to good old RAF Finningley `til it closed

1995 - 1998 RAF West Drayton London Air Traffic Control Centre
1998 - 2000 RAF Waddington operating E-3, Nimrod, various fast jets from different countries deployed to Waddington to operate in the ACMI range in the North sea.
I mainly love cold war era jets, particularly Soviet aircraft and I look forward to chatting with like minded people
